Interested in becoming a referee or linesman?

Anyone wishing to referee for the 2015-2016 season:

1. Must register at USA Hockey, and pay the fee
2. Must complete the On Line Modules
3. Must complete and pass the on line open book test
4. Must attend a local seminar (Wheeling’s seminar 8:00 -1:00 on October 31st) you must preregister on line for the seminar
5. If 18 and older Must complete the Mid Am screening
6. If 18 and older must complete Safe Sport

How to Register to Become an Official

Beginning August 1 each season you may register to become an official at USA Hockey’s Web site.

You first must click the box in the Age Requirement section that says you are currently 18 years of age or older.  Please note that USA Hockey recommends you be age 14 or older to become an official*.  If you are under 18, you will need to have a parent or guardian complete the online registration for you.

Once you’ve certified you’re 18 or older, choose “Ice Official (Referees)” as  the Registration Type.  Then continue through the rest of the four-step process.
